Should I have hope or walk away?

I had a serious talk w/ the guy I've been dating for the past 3.5 months bcs I felt like tonight I reached my limit. I told him if he didn't see me in person to talk that I wished him the best. He agreed to see me & we talked for an hour. I know I am going to get a lot of degrading, however one night he saw me in the car kissing my ex, then he saw hickeys on my chest & then I admitted that I had sex w/my ex while I was having sex w/him & ended up getting pregnant. I had an abortion, however & told him about it. Keep in mind him & I had made paasionate love several times already & he slept w/ me after everytime. From the get go, he said he was scared to fall in love & for us to see what happens. I feel ever since he saw me w/my ex he has been acting different. Before he saw me w/my ex said maybe he wasnt ready for a relationship & for us to see what would happen in the future. We also are not even bf/gf. This weekend, he didn't come to visit me bcs he said its his weekend w/his daughters & his daughters cause alot of drama. However before he brought them like twice. Well we had this serious convo & he told me what do I expect him to think by me having sex w/my ex. Then he said he thought it would be best for us to maybe not have sex bcs he wouldnt want to lead me on & dont want me falling in love and getting feelings. He said he has a cold heart now and if I agree to friends with benefits, he is okay with that. He is just scared to fall in love. He said he don't know when he will be ready for a relationship. But then.later he said, he prefers to visit me alone. He texts me everyday still. Deep down, I feel before he saw me with my ex he truly liked me but now is he just hurt by what I did or what?  He even said hes trying to work more to keep his mind occupied and he has barely gone on facebook. Although he admitted he was gonna make a new fb account? What should I do?
