Birth control. Yes or no? And did it mess your body up?

So me and my husband were talking and he wants me to get on birth control and we want to stop in February/ March and try to have a December baby. 
When do I stop taking the pill? 
Does it mess with your hormones? 
Does it take longer to get pregnant?

Yes. It took me over a year to get a cycle after bc so I had to take progesterone to trigger it back. Would never take it again. 
Why would you start bc to get off of it in just a few months?

I was on a BC pill for 13 years and had no issues. It worked really well for me. I went off and it took us about 5 months to get pregnant (with temperature and ovulation tracking). Since you want to start trying soon anyway, I’d just go with condoms rather than bc. 
After he was born, I tried to go back on it. Very different experience. No dr would put me on the one I’d had for over a decade. I had horrible reactions to the ones I tried (four kinds in 2 months) including my skin burning from plain water. It was a complicated mess that I stopped trying to work out and just went off completely. We ended up with an unplanned pregnancy as a result, but it worked out (they’re 2 years apart). My husband then got a vasectomy.
Recently, a dermatologist recommended I go on bc or try a different hormonal drug to help with acne (my appt was a skin cancer screening). I won’t do either. I’m not messing with my hormones or my cycle anymore. I’ll have some zits every few weeks rather than deal with all the other side effects.

I don’t see the point in taking it now just to get off it so soon. Everyone reacts to it differently. It’s going to mess with your hormones. You could get off it & get pregnant immediately, or you could have issues getting your cycle back. There’s no way to know exactly how your body is going to react to it.

9 years I was on and it caused major heart problems

I was on depo for a year. It made me gain weight like crazy. I was 16-17 years old.
I was 19 when I got put on the pill. I was 20 when I finally made the call to get off it. The was on the pill for medical reasons. They had to change the brand a couple times because of the side effects. It made me super depressed by the time I made the call to come off of it. I didn’t want to get out of bed or anything. A month later found out I was pregnant with my daughter. After my daughter I got on the mini pill since I was breastfeeding it didn’t work well. I was having a period every other week with it. So we stopped it. We got pregnant 6 months after i stopped the mini pill. Ended in a miscarriage. Got pregnant again a few months later. Had my son, and decided to get the arm implant. That last three months, it caused headaches and I didn’t like the way it made me feel. Got pregnant 10ish after that. Ended in a miscarriage again. Got pregnant the following month and still pregnant.

All hormonal birth control messes with your hormones unfortunately. It doesn’t take very long to get pregnant after you stop taking it. It just depends on your body. I actually got pregnant on the pill and I took the pill exactly as I was suppose to since I was 15 lol
I switched to a copper iud after I had my baby tho
