Speech therapy?

My son is 3 in August. He isn’t talking much he still mostly has gibberish talk. He’ll say some sentences like “I don’t want it, I don’t like it”. He’ll name stuff like plane, bug, train, iPad. He’ll repeat words after me if he feels up to it. 
I’m not sure what to do for him? We don’t have a family doctor, we’d have to go in clinic to get him referred if he needs it.

I think you should take him to be seen, that sounds like quite a significant delay. My daughter is 3 in July so most of her friends are right at the same age and they are having little two-way conversations with each other negotiating sharing and games . without needing parents to speak for them all the time.. Do you have other kids his age that he can interact with?

If he’s an only child it’s normal, every child is different and girls usually hit milestones faster than boys but with little boys I find after three they just start talking up a storm.

The best thing you can do is get an evaluation done. 
His pediatrician can help you find someone. If you have early intervention where you live, I recommend that (your pediatrician will give a referral).
