Eating healthier is giving me headaches!!

I just found out I’m prediabetic 😣 I drink soda every day there’s not one day I don’t ever drink and lately I’ve been increasing it by drinking 3 cans a day.

I finally decided to quit soda and start eating healthier, it’s been 2 days only and this is the longest I ever went on not drinking soda and drinking water only! But why am I getting headaches after I finish eating?

Is this normal? I have been eating vegetables and protein these 2 days.

It's not the food. It's a lack of caffeine. Withdrawals. The headaches will pass once your body adjusts to not having caffeine.

It’s withdrawal from caffeine and high levels of sugar.

The lack of sugar that your body was once used to having everyday has comes to halt. Youre having withdrawals. Im a boreline diabetic. I eat a low/moderate carbs daily. Stay hydrated and eat balanced meals with low glycemic carbs. The insulin in your body may not be working correctly as of a result it may sometimes produces too insulin which can cause low blood sugar and give you a headache.

You’re just going through withdrawals. Caffeine and sugar are super addictive and your body craves it, it will be suffering and want the good stuff when it’s taken away. Just stay strong, drink soda water to get the fizz, take a really good multivitamin with minerals and drink lots of water. The yucky feelings should be gone after a week, the mental addiction is a different story though, that takes hard work 😅

Try a prebiotic soda like poppi or olipop. Or zevia. I dont drink soda, i used to just like you. I cut it (mainly sprite), and never had issues. Hang in there.

I would cut down to like half a can a day and then cut it out, you need to give your body time to adjust to no more caffiene. I wouldnt go cold turkey just yet but if you want to, definitely keep tylenol on hand

Any sudden diet change can give you headaches or feeling low. But keep it up, it’s a good sign. It’d balance out soon 😉
