Sores on toddlers tongue

My 21 month old was pouring drool all day I thought maybe he was getting molars. I looked in his mouth and he’s got huge white sores down both sides of his tongue (not the stuff on top that’s from a cracker he was eating lol) he also had a low grade fever when I got him from daycare.

What does this look like? Hand foot and mouth? Thrush? He doesn’t have sores or bumps anywhere else. I’m gunna take him to urgent care when they open in the morning.
