Why is ob waiting so long?

Per LMP I am 6w1d and OB says no ultrasound until 7/29…. 9 weeks? Why wait so long is this normal??

Pretty typical, most wait until there can be a something big enough to actually measure and check for heart beat. My OB typically gets you in any time past 8 weeks, usually earliest available. But they are really booked end of July/early August, I guess lots of babies due around that time, etc… So I’m being seen at 7 1/2 weeks. Had a chemical last month so I’m not complaining, just hoping little bean has progressed enough to see and measure things properly. 🤞🏻🤞🏻❤️ Sticky and healthy beans for us all!

I was 8 weeks 5 days on mine! I get another at 12 weeks 4 days.

It’s normal for them to get you in 8-10 weeks unless you have a history of loss or high risk pregnancy. With my first I believe I was 8 or 9 weeks. I’m currently pregnant with my 4th and high risk but with my first they had no concerns to bring me in earlier

I’ll be 12 weeks and 3 days. Pretty much out of my first trimester before I get my first ultrasound.

I have had 2 miscarriages almost back to back and this is my 5th pregnancy and I have to wait till I am 10 weeks to be seen and it’s frustrating but it’s what they do.

My OB is making me wait until end of 10 weeks even tho I’ve had multiple chemicals and a hard time getting pregnant (2nd baby) this past year 🤷🏻‍♀️ not thrilled about the wait but nothing I can do. Apparently it’s normal 🙁

Normal, most will wait til you can actually see something during the ultrasound.
