Bf has never given me gas money

I drive to his house. 3 times a week for 4 years. Not once has he given me gas money nor have I asked for it! Today, He asked for me to give him a ride maybe 30 mins away after going to his house, and I said are you going to give me gas money? Kinda of joking lightly not serious. He immediately got defensive! Saying really? What is this? When have I ever asked you for gas money when I take you out to dinner?

It’s so annoying I didn’t think he’d have an issue with giving me gas money because I’ve never asked for it in 4 years of driving back and forth to his house 😖 UGH. I just feel like men are supposed to want to provide! I shouldn’t have to ask for it.

I’m doing all the driving all the time so yes! I expect him to offer some gas money at least once every four years 😂
