Please let me hear your experiences !

Hey guys ! I’m in this dreadful situationship with this guy. He is a sweetheart but he has yet to make it official with me and it’s been 6 months. Every time I ask about moving forward, it’s different excuses like “I need time to figure you out” , or “it may not work because you really don’t like the things I do”. I ended it with “ok that’s fine so that’s enough clarification to know what we both need to do moving forward, I wish you the best” even though I heavily wish things were different. Then he’ll come back days later and text me random great news that “he couldn’t wait to tell me” , or a sweet message about how much he appreciates me even though he could be difficult at times etc. ofc my big heart forgives because I be missing him anyway but I don’t know how to just let it go completely. But this time I feel like I’m really done. Can you guys please tell me about your experiences about you dealing with a horrible guy that you felt didn’t really like you and then you later ended up a very GREAT man. I really need to hear it all. I love hearing about love so much. Because in reality I can’t wait to be loved like that someday.
