Would you get a tattoo while pregnant?

I have a tattoo appointment at the end of July. I just found out I was pregnant 2 days ago. I got a tattoo my last pregnancy when I didn’t know and was fine.. has anyone ever gotten one? I’m really bummed that I might have to cancel.

Any reputable tattoo artist will turn you away if you’re pregnant and reschedule you for after baby is born and/or you’re done breastfeeding. There’s an infection risk when it comes to getting a tattoo, even while not pregnant. Your immune response is lower when pregnant, therefore increasing your risk of infection and possibly passing that infection on to the fetus. It is absolutely NOT worth it to risk your health and your baby’s health. Call your artist, tell them the situation, and ask for a reschedule after baby is born.

I have many many tattoos and would not risk it. I've rescheduled tattoos twice for pregnancy and one was a appt I had been waiting for for like 7 months already. It isn't that long of a time to wait and even if the risk is very very small it isn't a necessity in anyway so why take the risk.

There’s no real test studies and risk but I’m assuming for people who can’t handle pain would have their blood pressure up the roof and idk maybe get an infection if they go with someone that isn’t hygienic. I’m pretty sure I went when I didn’t know I was pregnant yet to and was fine. But I have my whole body covered. I guess it depends on you and your tattoo artist
