I got engaged last December. When I texted my friend the news, she said “Congrats” I said “Thank you!!” it was weird because she typically would text me daily paragraphs. One word felt off, but it was ok. But she never texted back after that. I felt kinda hurt and decided not to reach out unless she did. She didn’t. We don’t have mutual friends (I was pretty much her only friend tbh) but my other friends say she’s spiteful. She really wants to get married but none of her relationships work out. A recurring thing I noticed in our friendship was she only wanted to hear the drama and negative things, she was never genuinely happy for me when good things happen. Literal months went by and I felt like our friendship was over? I noticed she blocked me on TikTok, but we’re still friends on Facebook. She reached out randomly with a text saying she hopes all is well and she loves me. I replied nicely and said I’d love to hangout and catch up sometime soon. No reply, I tried again a few weeks later and nothing so let it go. She would have been a bridesmaid but at this point even inviting her at all felt weird so I didn’t. Last week she wrote on my Facebook wishing me a happy birthday and she hopes it’s the best yet and she loves me. And now I don’t know if I should reach out and invite her to my wedding in 3 months? Not worth it? I’m conflicted.
