So I had an ob appointment about 3 weeks ago and they did a urine culture. Nothing showed up on the in office test but the culture showed a small amount of E. coli bacteria. I wasn’t given an antibiotic then. Last week, I started to have uti symptoms (burning and bladder pain) so I went back Thursday and had another culture. This one was negative. I saw my pcp and had another culture done. I should have those results tomorrow. I guess my question is if this culture comes back negative too could I still have a uti if I’m having symptoms? I think I should just take the antibiotics just in case, but I don’t want to hurt my baby. I’m 18 weeks 4 days. I’m going to talk to my dr tomorrow, but I’m just curious if anyone else has had this happen and if so what did you do?
