Clomid - Fail

We are in our first round of clomid, I had an almost positive ovulation test on CD 18, confirmed ovulation with a progesterone blood test on CD 21, today is 12 DPO based on the almost positive, and it’s 2am, I woke unable to sleep thinking about testing later but couldn’t wait. I’ve just taken a clear blue ultra early and it’s negative. Am I out or could I have ovulated a little later and missed it?

We have been TTC for 5 years, I am feeling like this is all too much and maybe we are better off using our energy to spend time with our almost 7 year old! I am exhausted, this has become all consuming!
