late period

my period is 3 days late and i’ve been super emotional, crying over nothing, and my boobs have been sore but i feel like they are always sore. ive also had some minor cramping but it’s nowhere near as bad as my normal cramps. i’ve not had any nausea or anything. i took a test yesterday and it was negative. is it just too early or is it more likely to just be a irregular period.
