Steroids for baby lungs?

So I have to get steroids for my baby’s lungs in case we have to take her earlier than 38 weeks. I’m nervous about because i dont know what to expect. At the hospital where they do it they also require I stay for a nst after and that makes me nervous like why? Will it harm her than do good? Just need some reassurance is all. I’m trying so hard to stay off google.

Yeah, I’d take the steroid no question. If there’s a risk your baby comes early and you can be ready and avoid NICU, you take the steroid. NSTs are a precaution. No way I’d even bat an eye at this.

I.was born.6 weeks early and had steroids. I was a completely healthy child(i am 33 and i developed a family genetic.ossue not related to premature burth and steroids)

I had my 4th at 36w and didn’t have to do any of that but I’d trust your doctor they wouldn’t be doing it for no reason

Got my first round. Was scared because she wasn’t moving how I liked so went back in and she was fine. Just sleeping harder since it raised my sugar. Just a little traumatic for me since this is around the time I lost my son. 
Did any of you guys have side effects after or did your baby’s movements change after the rounds?? I can see her doing like little pushes but from what I read that could be her practicing breathing. I’m just on high alert and scared. I’m almost there but I’m trying so hard to stay off google and go for experiences.

Thank you all so much. I was just scared of doing the nst after because I wasn’t sure what it the shot would do. I’ve already been through a stillborn and being in the hospital around the time I had my son will have some sort of ptsd effect on me. Also I don’t like shots so i dont know where they put it and how sore I’ll be lol. I’m hoping they’ll get me in to do it soon because I hear they can’t do it past 36 weeks or something.
