I am a 21 year old accounting major/computer science minor undergrad student. I am going to get my masters next year and I have a well paying job with one of the big 4 firms lined up in the same state, but in a city 3 hours away. I got through undergrad on a full ride and will have to take out a student loan to do my masters which would take a year. My Eastern European mother is losing her mind over the fact that I’ll be taking out a loan and moving out. I said I’ll visit about once a month and that the position utilizes both my accounting and cs skills. All she heard was me blaming her for her advising me to pick up a cs minor, and that I hate being home and spending time with her. She ended up slut shaming me for being an unmarried young woman living in an apartment alone in a new big city? I will be 23 by that point. My 24 year old sister who is a nurse has been living at home and has been having the hardest time with my mom shaming her for going out with her bf or trying to get her to come home earlier when she spends time with friends. My mom spent hours yelling at me today, breaking down my character, morals, and integrity over a good job opportunity. I don’t know what to do anymore, has anyone been in a similar situation?
