Not doing chores after work

Sorry this is long winded

Me (21F) am currently living at home with my parents. I work 48hrs a week of shift work and get like a day or two off in between shifts. I have freshly graduated this year.

Today my mom exploded on me for not setting the table for dinner. She started to go on about how all I do is lay on the couch in my room doing nothing. I reiterated the fact I forgot and I am tired from working yesterday. My mom went on to say that work isn’t an excuse and that dad has the same hours as me and still takes care of the garden (His shifts being 6-6 and mine 9-9) and that she (who is retired now) use to work office hours still had to do chores and household stuff after work. She said it’s unacceptable for me to be lying down doing nothing and not contribute to the household and that I should be doing chores such a cleaning my room, doing my laundry and cleaning the bathrooms.

The problem is that I would clean my own room if she gave me a chance but my mom is always rushing to do it first because she thinks I’ll just abandon it. My mom also agreed originally that since I was contributing towards the house bills (tbf only a little) she would still do my laundry with the rest of the household. I didn’t mind doing my own laundry but that was the agreement. And now apparently it’s a problem.

Yes I am tired from working shift work during the week and I’m starting to think that perhaps I’m not pulling my weight enough and she has the right to give out and state I’m doing “nothing” on my days off. Any advice or opinions?
