Pregnancy and COVID
I found out yesterday that someone I saw on Saturday and spent about half an hour talking to, tested positive for Covid on Sunday.
I went out and tested myself immediately, because my first and only concern was my unborn child. I was negative.
My mentor, and someone I respect called me unexpectedly while I was driving to get some tests to test myself.
He asked “shouldn’t you be at work?”
I explained that I had left temporarily to test myself because I was worried about the pregnancy and being around someone who was positive.
He (75m) launched into this rant about how covid is not nearly half as bad as they make out and it’s just a ploy to get you to spend money on tests.
I tried to justify myself by explaining that it was the impact it might have for the pregnancy and baby, not myself, but he was far too worked up.
It just frustrated me because anything can be an unknown with pregnancy and given it’s my first, I’m even more cautious
