Why would my boyfriend say this?

We have been together for 4 months and a month ago he said he wishes me and him had a place together. We even planned on moving in together when we could afford it. And lately he said to me he wishes he had his own place. How could he say to me he wishes me and him has his own place to he wishes he had his own place within a month. After he told me he wishes he had his own place I said I would want to move in with you and he said it’s a two way street and we would have to split the costs of rent. Why would he say he wishes me and him moved in together to he wishes that he had his own place within a month? Is this odd to you that he said he wishes me and him had own place and a month later he says he wishes he had his own place or Am I overthinking this?
