Bf issues with periods/PCOS and sex

So I (30f) have recently begun dating a guy (32m), who seemed generally like a good guy and feminist ally.

When we started to talk about sex he said he thinks sex with a woman while on her period is disgusting. I understand some men feel that and I guess that’s fine. But when I told him I have PCOS and that makes my periods irregular with a little bit of spotting throughout the month, he freaked out. He said he thinks that might be a dealbreaker because if there was ever even a little bit of blood that started during sex he would be really upset. I said he should be using a condom anyway, so I don’t see what the issue is. He said unless I was sure that there was no blood, he wouldn’t do penetration and would want me to offer him oral.

I’m fine with him not wanting to have sex while on my period, but not wanting to have sex at any point during the month when I *could* have a small amount of spotting start from penetration? That doesn’t sound very reasonable to me.

I feel like this is really weird and demeaning. I’ve had many past partners and not a single one of them has made me feel weird about my period or my bodily functions, and he’s a grown adult. I think I should break up with him.

Is this a dealbreaker?
