TW. Is this pieces of my mucus plug?

Sorry for the pics. I’m 34 weeks pregnant, I went to the hospital last week due to having contractions, I dilated to 1.5cm while there and was 50% effaced then no change for a few hours so was sent home. I had spotting all day yesterday now today almost every time I’ve went to the restroom there’s been really thick stringy “discharge” and specs of brown blood on my underwear and when I wipe. I’ve still been contracting on and off but not enough to send me to the hospital again thankfully. Could this be pieces of my mucus plug or just discharge? The hospital was worried about the possibility of preterm labor and told me come back to get checked if I experienced loss of my mucus plug or bleeding/leaking fluids with contractions starting up again but don’t wanna seem dramatic and go back if that’s not what this is.
