Announcing Your Pregnancy

How long did everyone wait to announce your pregnancy to your family and friends? With my first baby I didn't have to announce anything because my dad was with me at the doctors when I was told I was pregnant (I was very sick and couldn't drive myself and my daughter's father and I had been using protection so it was unexpected). This time around I found out on my own with a home test and have only told my partner. Obviously I want to wait before telling family or friends because I'm still very early and haven't even had my first prenatal appointment yet. How long should I wait? How far along were you when you told your family?
