Nuvaring problem

I have been using the Nuvaring for almost a year now and I notice when I take my ring out to get my period, I go through what I think is hormone withdrawal. I get small vaginal and vulvular tears that bleed. It’s the most uncomfortable thing, and forget about it when I pee they burn like hand sanitizer in a paper cut. I have to brace myself every time I use the bathroom. I don’t have sex during this week so it’s not from that. The only explanation I can come up with is hormone withdrawal because as soon as I take the ring out they show up without fail. Has this happened to anyone else who has used the vaginal ring birth control?!!?
