Show me your basement stairs 😂

Odd request but if you would be willing to show me your basement stairs leading to an epoxy floor that would be great 😂 I need ideas.

Our finished basement has white carpet. It’s so nice but we have known since we bought the house that eventually it needs to go: we have a walk out basement and it’s just not ideal.

We recently had a drain back up and sewer water got into the carpet. So time for it to go.

We want to epoxy the floor so it still has a nice finished look and we don’t need to worry about the flooring getting damaged in the future. I’m guessing we will go with either some kind of grey or brown epoxy finish.

But I have no ideas what to do for my stairs. We don’t know what is under the carpet yet but I’d like to have some ideas in place. I love wood stairs but I’m worried about it clashing since there is so much other wood around it. I do not want to replace all the wainscoating and other wood bc we don’t have the money for that right now. I’m guessing we just need to paint the stairs and have a runner. I was thinking black but not seeing very many ideas for it on Pinterest that also don’t have the actual stair still wood or also have white paint. I don’t want any white.
