Worried!

Has anyone gotten an IUD inserted while they were on their period? I've gotten an iud 3 times but never when I was on my period. I'm supposed to get my period the day that I get my IUD put in and I'm worried it's gonna make my periods even heavier than they already are because I do with severely heavy and painful periods… should I reschedule?

I really need this IUD though, it's the only thing that stops my heavy constant periods, but I feel like it's gonna suck while I'm on my period but I have heard that it hurts less while you're on your period, is that true? I've had two kids so either way it isn't gonna bother me as much. The only thing that really bothers me is when they measure my cervix.
