Does anyone else here solo travel?

I’m thinking of going on my 2nd international solo trip somewhere at the end of feb/early march. I went to Thailand for two weeks last May and loved it. I’m curious to hear anyone else’s stories.

I travel all over solo for work and pleasure. I love traveling with my husband and family/friends (specific ones) but I travel for work a lot and so does my husband so have taken leisure trips while he is working. I love doing it and have no plans to stop. Plan well, be safe, and always make sure people know where you are and have scheduled check ins but its amazing. My last solo trip was Iceland and it was beyond words amazing.

I have a family member who travels all over the world solo. She loves it. She’s 34. No kids. No husband. But her passport is FILLED. She started in college with a semester at sea and then joined the peace corps and went to South Africa. She’s home for the last 10 years but she goes on an international trip at least quarterly. Zero complaints from her. If you have the means and the motivation, do it! I’m NOT a traveler, I hate sleeping anywhere except my own bed. So I personally won’t. But she has no regrets.

Like Missy, I have extended work trips to solo holidays. I like the lack of pressure and being able to do (or not do) things on a whim. I have been to many places in Europe, Africa and Asia solo. The only place I didn’t feel safe alone was Cape Town.
