my fiancé is lacking with effort

me & my fiancé have been together for 6 years…we have been through A LOt together and on and off when we were younger,, we got engaged a year ago and are planning to get married in august. we bought a house together which is he living in & i won’t move in until we are married.

i just feel like he barley puts effort in anymore. we have been arguing a lot recently and it mainly all stems because he just isn’t showing me love which i will make comments like “you don’t like me today” etc. which i know isn’t right but i think it just stems from insecurity because my love language is words of affirmation and im not getting any. well when i say these things he tells me i drain him and that he needs space. i try to communicate and tell him hey this is bothering me and all i need is more words of affirmation and all he says is “im sorry im not good enough for you” or “i cant do anything right” well to me this feels like he just is feeling sorry for himself rather than giving the bare minimum text that he loves me i get so frustrated because it’s not that hard. he used to do all of the things and text me all the time,, compliment me,, give me words of affirmation and its all going away. i swear im not asking for a lot but he makes me feel like i am.
