If Himalayan salt is so good for you, explain why my family is being told to eat iodized salt?!
My husband, kids and I have been feeling lousy for almost a year and can't figure it out. Went for blood work and all of us have thyroid issues. It took us a year before a nurse who saw us once to ask about our diet (this is two months into testing).
We ONLY use Himalayan salt. We eat raw, organic, farm-to-table and homegrown. We don't use anything processed aside from my depression pills and my son's asthma meds. Why did it take them THIS LONG to figure this out? Two months!!!
So if you only use Himalayan salt be warned that it is awful for your thyroid.
Edit: eating healthy is not a crime. It's not an eating disorder. We messed up one thing. We didn't know about iodine. I'm just trying to let people know that if you only use Himalayan salt, you could end up like us.
Edit: G, are you really that unhappy that you have to call healthy eating "disordered"? Seriously. We live in a community where lots of people garden and grow their own food. This year we had an abundance of fresh food because we share with our neighbours and trade. I'm so sorry that you believe that supporting local and working together with neighbours to bring fresh, pesticide-free veggies to your table is disordered eating. I'm sorry that you think it's somehow "disordered eating" to support a local farmer and butcher because it's cheaper and better for you. Come on. Eating healthy is not a crime. We messed up on one thing.
