Ovulation Pain & Cysts
Hello… apologies for the long read!
I am just looking for others who may have experienced something similar and how they manage it.
Pretty much since I have had my first baby every cycle I experience the same thing with no real answers from doctors.
My cycles are ball park regular, to me. They can be tracked. I have been told otherwise… but with logging and testing my cycle is pretty bang on.
Now what I experience is I have a light period, last 4-7 days, From there to ovulation I am fine. Around ovulation though (again I am testing for this) I experience pelvic pain, and almost feels like my reproductive organs are swollen and making everything painful and quite uncomfortable. I get bloated, it is painful to move, and even worse when I try to use the bathroom, especially going number two.
Within 2-3 days of this I start to spot, and this happens basically through to the start of my expected period where things gets a little heavier.
An ultrasound about a day after estimated ovulation showed I had cysts but not enough to diagnose anything. I am also having to see the gunk every 6 months for pap testing but she states that it is unrelated.
I have had many ultrasounds, bloodwork, tried BC methods. I get next to no relief. Maybe every couple months I do not experience these symptoms and have a heavier period but that is it.
This has significantly impacted my sex life as, since my partner and I are not into period sex. Personal preference that is not going to change.
The next option I have is to try progesterone only BC to try and stop ovulation without dealing with the side effects of estrogen that contributes to horrible mood swings, depression, and anxiety. I have ADHD.
Anyways… has anyone else been through something similar? Were you diagnosed with anything? How do you manage it?
Sincerely
A very uncomfortable lady who would like her sex life back.
