Do you think people who make over a certain amount shouldn't be paid overtime?

I make $120k a year before taxes. Yesterday, (Wednesday) I came in early and ended up working 16 hours. I told my boss that tomorrow (Friday) I wouldn't be in. He agreed, and put in to payroll that I'm taking the day off tomorrow in lieu of overtime. Today (Thursday), payroll made a comment to me to the effect of "You make so much money. Why does it matter how much overtime you work?"
