Would you celebrate a pregnant FTM on Mother’s Day?

I’m currently pregnant for the first time  and this Sunday for Mother’s Day, my mother told me that since I’m only pregnant and the baby isn’t here,  I wouldn’t be considered a mother yet. Thoughts?

Considering you’re carrying a baby and making sure you drink, eat, and rest enough for the baby in your belly I’d say you’re being a mother already by caring for the wellbeing of that baby and have every right to celebrate ❤️

There aren’t any rules on this. Personally I didn’t celebrate when I was pregnant, or when I only had dogs, or after a loss. I didn’t feel it was appropriate. But there’s no law either way. You do whatever feels right to you.

My husband celebrated me on Mother’s Day before we even had kids. We have a dog together and a daughter now. You should definitely still celebrate it while you’re pregnant!

I kiiiiind of get her point but I guess it’s just because it’s what’s considered normal by most standards that a mom-to-be is considered a mom in literally all other aspects, except Mother’s Day? I grappled with this as well when I was pregnant. Like why am I considered and called a mom any other day of my pregnancy, BUT this day? That said though, I didn’t celebrate Mother’s Day until my first born was earth side.
