Sex during ovulation?

I recently got married about a week ago, obviously my husband and I have been banging like bunnies, we are coming up on my first ovulation cycle since we’ve been married (we stopped having sex about a year ago for religious reasons.)

My husband and I use condoms and wash our hands in between rounds, but I’m not on birth control (and refuse to be).

My question for you ladies is, if you aren’t trying to get pregnant, do you personally stop having sex during your fertile days or do you just continue with protection?

I wouldn’t mind a baby in the future, but we just aren’t in the right financial spot for it just yet.
