Husband got settlement and didnt tell me

Hello, my husband got his hand injured two years ago. He finally got a settlement from the store that he bought the device that injured him. During his case he would talk about it and give me updates all the time and one day he just stopped. He started buying things, like replaced his wardrobe, offered to pay for rent that split half and half for 4 months because I was struggling financially, and offered to take the family on vacation, something that would cost 6k and he replaced my wedding ring. During these offerings I asked if his case ended and he said NO. He is the one who would tell me about the case, I’ve never asked before because he has the mentality that women are gold diggers even though we go half and half on bills and i make less and inconsistent pay check than him. Yesterday i was drunk and he was too and i finally asked again because the math doesn’t add up. He finally opened up and said yes his case ended and said he didn’t tell me because women are gold diggers but laughed and said he was joking. He said he only told his dad and estranged brother that he complains about all the time. It made me feel so weird. I DONT want his money and i never ask him for money. Why would he lay down next to someone he feels he cant be honest with? And two i feel even more terrible that he think I’m so slow that i cant count. Again i don’t want his money, but i feel so weird knowing i took care of him fully and was there for him talking my ears off about his case just to win a settlement and not say anything. Makes me feel like i don’t know him at all. He got off the bed, took the blanked and told me to get under another little blanked and went to sleep on the couch.
