Hysterectomy?

I’m done having kids. My tubes are out. I keep having abnormal pap smears and my GYN suggested I do a LEEP procedure where they scrape the top layer off your cervix. It’s done under anesthesia. I have a history of cancer in my family. Would it make more sense for me to get a hysterectomy and just have the cervix completely removed instead of doing the LEEP which I may have to repeat if it continues to be abnormal? Instead of being put to sleep for a LEEP and then a hysterectomy years later.
