Today I got my hair cut. My boyfriend of 8 years knew I was getting it cut because we even texted about it before I picked him up. When I picked him up he didn’t say anything about my hair at all. Later this evening he did say “you lol beautiful” but he always says that so it wasn’t specific to my hair. Would you be hurt? I got a significant amount cut off…

You are looking for reasons to be hurt. It would be 10 million times easier to just ask “do you like my hair?” So many pointless arguments and hurt feeling can be avoided if people stopped playing games with their significant other, expecting them to read minds, or expecting them to know exactly what you want to hear. Talk, ask, communicate and your relationships, not just romantic, all relationships will improve

All that matters is that you like it. Sure, we all hope our partner will like what we do with our appearance, but at the end of the day, how we feel is most important. I used to run things by my ex husband before I would do anything like cutting or dying my hair. I wanted to know what he thought, and in hindsight, that was a bad decision because all it did was show him that I cared more about what he thought than what I thought myself, and he took that and ran with it. So don’t worry about what your man thinks. Are YOU happy with it? Do YOU like your hair the way it is? The only person whose validation you need is your own. That’s all.

My husband and I are about to be together 10 years, I’m a hairdresser. Have quite literally started the day with a color or two and ended it with another and he almost didn’t notice, multiple times.
I change it a lot but I’m talking neon green to pink and orange and he notices two hours after getting home 😂
