First time trying

Hey everyone, I just had a question about your first time trying to get pregnant!! my husband and I just started trying my fertile week just passed and my period is supposed to start in seven days! How soon did you guys start testing?? Because I thought about taking one tomorrow morning. How long did it take also for my girls that have PCOS🙁 fingers crossed that everything goes OK because this is my first time trying, but would be my second pregnancy my first one I lost in a miscarriage so this one is more exciting but scared because we’re actually trying for a baby so any advice would be amazing and no rude comments please💕💕
