Nipt gender test accurate?

I got my nipt test and the blood test said girl. I already have a girl and really wanted a boy (I’m still happy ofc) but any way that it can be wrong and it is a boy? I got it done at 9 weeks 5 days or so. Had my girl 21 months before I convinced this baby so maybe her dna is still floating idk.

Unfortunately, the other posters are incorrect. Some of the companies do offer testing at 9 weeks. The Y chromosome can honestly actually be detected sooner, but 9 weeks gives a “buffer” to ensure a higher chance of accuracy. If your fetal fraction was high enough and the lab was confident enough to report your results, the results are real and typically >99.9% accurate for fetal sex. These labs will give inconclusive results if they’re not confident. In fact, if you DON’T have a baby with that sex, it is more worrisome that baby could have a Difference of Sexual Differentiation. (I work in Genetics).
I’m sorry you’re disappointed, it’s normal and okay! I was hoping for a girl this pregnancy, but I’m on baby boy #3. It is still taking some processing a few weeks after results, but I still love baby and am excited for him to join our family. ❤️

10 weeks is minimum for that test. Maybe can’t pick up the Y chromosome if it was early. Your daughters dna is gone from your bloodstream within 2 months of delivery.

I really can’t say for sure because this is my first baby, but they told me that I HAD to (at least) be at the 10 week mark before I had the NIPT blood drawn!
