How to gain financial independence with no child care

I have a two year old son. I’m very qualified and hold a BA honours degree in child protection and education. I use to be part of a child protection team.

I no longer work due to having no child care.

I can not afford it and have no family or friends. It’s just me and my son.

When he turns 3 he will be entitled to 15hours free child care (we are based in the UK). However, right now I’m in a situation that requires me to gain financial independence asap.

I’ve cut back on most things, stopped and cancelled direct debits that would be classed as luxury (tv package, football club for son). Next on my list would be to sell my car cancel insurance but I really need a car especially when I eventually can work.

I currently get state benefits.

Any ideas!
