Is it recommended to have sex before FET transfer?

Just curious if it is recommended or should we obstain.
What are your experiences?

I am not sure. My doctor had nothing against it but didn’t recommend it. Had 1 successful pregnancy in each case (now 2 kids)- so for me it really didn’t matter. I guess there are other factors that matter way more (such as embryo quality, right time point for implantation, uterine lining condition, right hormone status etc.). What I believe made a positive influence was acupuncture before/after transfer. And to relax!

Most recent studies suggests it’s actually very helpful for implantation to have sex 24hrs prior to your FET. If you google it you can find lots of recent scholarly articles!

@Amanda Sorry, this most recent one was from Remembryo- small subject size comment applies still though! Your doc and you may have already seen this though as this was ongoing in 2018-2019 if I'm recalling correctly.

New data actually says yes to the day/night before. It elaborates further that they did see a rise in implantation when intercourse is had 24 hrs before transfers. Theres not much data on live birth. Many clinics will tell you to abstain for X amount of time after transfer. I was encouraged to have sex through 3 retreival cycles (up until a certain point) and 5 transfer cycles by all of my clinics.

My doctor tells me when I should start abstaining and when it's okay again. Always like 10 days before transfer and until I get a beta HCG, then reassess if positive. 
But ask your doctor about this, it's really the doctor's advice you should follow and not ours.
