Loss at 18 weeks and ttc

It has been a year since I lost my son at 18weeks pregnant. I started trying again as soon as I could. I have had no luck. My periods have not been normal or regular at all. When I went to my check up after I had my son they didn’t check me or anything. A year later I have my annual check up. Are there any good questions I can ask my doctor when I go. I’m 36 with no living children. Should I just give up?
