How soon to do postpartum checkup and period?

Hi all. I have a PP checkup at 6 weeks (no more weeks to go) and was hoping maybe to have it sooner. It this a typical thing to do at 4 weeks? Also, do they do PP checkups even if you’re on your period? Just curious.

It’s not recommended to do it sooner as they’ll likely tell you to come back in 2 weeks because you aren’t fully healed at 4 weeks. 
You can go on your period. Anything before 6 weeks pp is considered pp bleeding.

My doctor had me come in 2 weeks pp to see how I was doing and back at 6 weeks pp to check down there. I don’t think they would see you sooner.
