Thoughts on Sushi?

I love sushi. But I’m 20 weeks pregnant and have been craving it but not sure if it really is dangerous or not, what are your thoughts?

Emily Oster, famous economist and researcher, has written on this in her book Expecting Better! 
She looked at studies (on alcool/coffee/sushi/gardening/cold cuts, etc.) to determine if there are actual scientific evidence for restricting women during pregnancy. If I remember correctly, the risks regarding sushis and cold cuts are minimal, and are more related to the possibility of getting food poisoning and becoming dehydrated.
After reading this book, I don’t refrain from eating sushi or cold cuts during pregnancy if I feel confident that they are fresh and of good quality. But I am not a professional and I would suggest you read the book and make up your mind yourself!

Third pregnancy and I’ve eaten sushi.. as long as it’s a reputable sushi restaurant I wouldn’t worry at all!

I’d say most places have cooked options! I found the cooked (but not fried) options really hit the spot for my sushi cravings! Eel is my favorite! 💜

I love sushi and have eaten it with both of my pregnancies. I also love salmon lox but I have limited myself to eating it just once every 2 weeks

Third pregnancy and I’ve been craving sushi all the time! So I have it. Did with my other two also. As long as it’s from a reputable source, my doc told me it’s no longer a concern. She also told me all the OBs in their clinic had it during their pregnancies. Good luck!
