No baby shower

Anyone else not have a shower with their first? Or second? Both my parents are deceased and I have no siblings. Only family I have are my grandparents who live an hour and a half away. Husband's family hasn't offered to do anything and I definitely don't want to ask. I've only lived in California for about 5 years so I only have a few close friends. I'm very sad about this whole thing. Any suggestions?
