Bachelor Party without a Reception?

We were engaged for 2 years before we got married (due to Covid-19) We got pregnant the second time and decided to do a Ceremony beginning of last year before due date. And had a small get together the day after with family. 
My husband always wanted to have a bachelor’s party and had asked his brother to be his best man and in charge of organizing it. It never happened. My BIL‘s excuse is there was never a “Wedding reception” so there’s no point of having a Bachelors Party. My husband feels let down and disappointed. Question is, do you need to have a complete reception in order to have a B.P? Because I totally think it’s whack and an excuse

Some people may feel that because they werent treated to a proper reception with meal and entertainment and drinks, they dont feel compelled to contribute financially towards a bachelor party for him, if you chose a modest/humble wedding fine but then why have extras after the fact like a bachelor party (Im not necessarily agreeing to this, Im just stating how others may see it, dont kill the messenger lol) Since hes already married it isnt really a 'bachelor party' anyway, to me it's nothing to do with the reception but more that hes already married where the idea of the bachelor party is supposed to be a night out before hes committed. Example a bridal shower after shes already been married for awhile would honestly be odd to me. Maybe the guy just doesnt want to take on the project of coordinating it, or if everyone will be expected to foot the bill for your husband, maybe thats an expense he cant take on right now in these financial times.  At the end of the day there are no rules when it comes to things like this, so if it's important to your husband then maybe he can coordinate it, he can simply call it a boys' night out.

That’s a load of nonsense, what has the wedding reception got to do with him organising a bachelor party? 
He is just looking for an excuse not to do it which is really disappointing and I think you husband should ask another friend if they want to do it

Sounds like an excuse to me.. u can have a bachelor party whether ur wedding is small or not.. u had a family meal so i would see that as a much nicer replacement.
