Terrified to give birth?

I’m due in 3 weeks and the thought of giving birth sends me into panic attacks. I’ve had to stop going on Facebook and tiktok because it just makes me more anxious seeing horror stories constantly. I literally start to cry when I think about it because I’m such a baby to pain! I’m so excited but being so scared is ruining it for me! Does anyone have any advice if they felt this same way?

I got the epidural because I had back labor and I do not regret getting it. I am pregnant with my second baby now and I plan of an epidural again. I just want to be able to relax and nap till she comes. It is completely normal to have fears of child birth. You won’t remember the pain after a few months. Maybe even sooner.

My childbirth was relatively easy, my contractions weren’t fun obviously but I never felt the need for pain medication…everyone is different however so just try and go into it with a plan and understanding our bodies were created to do this 🤍
With that said, if you are nervous about the pain be very up front with the fact you are going to want/need pain meds during labour and see what options are available

The more you tense up the worse it is. Try and practice focusing on the beautiful parts of it and consider getting a doula to help you through the process.

You can get various things/ medications to help with the pain such as an epidural. The nice thing is that you get breaks. Once the contraction is done, you feel totally normal, no pain. And it's different than regular pain since it's meant to happen and is productive in bringing baby into the world. It's definitely a wild experience but mostly exciting because it means baby is coming. I think when it happens, you'll be focused on that and not so much worried about the pain. You've got this! Your body was made for this.

Have you taken any birthing classes?  Like hypnobirthing?  Breathing exercises are huge!  Music that soothes you.  Essential oils.  Knowing we have tools to help calm us down and have some type of control in that moment.

I just gave birth a few weeks ago, all I can say is, don’t think too much about it. Have a birth plan of your bottom lines and be flexible with the rest of it. It gets hard, but your body was made to do it and we’ve been doing it for hundreds and hundreds of years. 
I went in not wanting an epidural, but my baby ended up almost being 11 lb and got stuck behind my pubic bone. It was excruciating. The epidural helped a LOT and while I thought at moments I couldn’t do it and was close to an emergency c section, I did indeed do it, and my baby was healthy and I recovered. I am not the best with pain either. It is true that the pain is hard, but you don’t even remember it after they are here and on your chest. And even when you are going through it, the medical team is supportive and it isn’t a pain that feels unnatural, and you get small breaks between contractions. You can and WILL do it!

i did too, I literally woke up on the day of my induction and was just like “ hm I don’t want to go”😂 but, you only ever hear the scary stories, i’ve had two easy births, obviously it’s not like that for everyone, but soooo many people give birth a day and they all go smoothly, it is scary, but it’s not as bad as you think it’ll be!

Honestly giving birth traumatized the fuck out of me. One and done cause I never wanted to experience it again. My daughter is 9 years old and still an only child. Sorry that doesnt sound helpful but theres literally no way to sugarcoat childbirth. It fucking sucks.
