Is this normal?

Any time I see people posting positive tests, they always say “this is before my missed period/10 DPO/etc.” is that normal or abnormal to test positive so early? We’re trying for our first and I’m not sure what to expect/when to test.

I think you can do whatever keeps you sane!  For me, I like to wait until my period is due or until I'm late to keep the hope alive, and it would break my heart if I tested early and had a chemical and then the lines went faint.  Or if I have drinking plans I'd test early so I know if I shouldn't drink anymore lol.  Some people would rather test early- whatever works!  Good luck!

If you are tracking ovulation with opks and bbt you can have a positive as early as 8/9dpo. Implantation can happen as early as 6 dpo and it takes a couple of days for hcg to build up. The most common day for implantation is 8/9 dpo though.
