Did I do the right thing

I wanted to know. I am divorced 2 years been single 5 years nearly now I have 3 kids one nearly 5 and two under 4.

I am having trouble with a guy I started dating 9 months ago, we went on our first, second and 3rd date and he told me he had 2 kids. We started asking about the future and plans. When I got home from one date. He broke it to me and told me he's married lovelessly but has to stay because of his two kids.

I have since left because after 9 months things are getting heated sexually and I feel he's pushing for more where I am not there yet. I feel like he's using me on the side as his wife is there and he's not getting any . I hear some people say things like they sleep separately etc and he was keeping my texts to show her for when he separated. But because I have fallen for him I am second guessing whether there's still a chance or I've done the right thing leaving as he lied to me.

He was on Facebook single parenting group and I sent him a messenger message last July.
