Daughter will be 1 in 2 weeks.

Our daughter turns 1 in 2 weeks and my husband’s birthday is a week after, I was wanting to plan a night with him for his birthday just the two of us. It has been a year of just being me and him alone. Our daughter is breastfed and will not take a bottle!! She does however drink water from a bottle like we drink from or from a hard straw. I have not been away from her in almost a year. No sleep in that long and no alone time with my husband in the long. Would it be bad to let my mom keep her for one night so my husband and I can enjoy a night alone that is long needed in a year? She does night comfort nurse and I’m really wanting to break her of that! Would it be wrong for me to let her stay at my moms for one night?

Go. Have fun. Babe will be fine! At 1, solids we far more important than breast milk (though there’s wonderful benefits to extended breastfeeding). Babe does not need milk after 1.You can try putting breast milk in an open cup or straw cup for her. While your mom has her, make sure she gets plenty of cheese or yogurt. You’ll be surprised what babe actually needs while you are away.

Not wrong at all!! Some me time and mom and dad time away from baby and kids is necessary for our mental health.

It’s not wrong at all! We all deserve a night away sometimes and it certainly sounds like you need it! Your babe will be absolutely fine I promise. After a year breast milk isn’t a necessity anyways. Go have a fun and relaxing time away with your husband and enjoy yourself ❤️

It's completely understandable to want some alone time with your husband after a year of taking care of your daughter. It's okay to let your mom keep her for one night, especially if you trust her and feel comfortable with it. Just make sure to leave clear instructions for your mom on how to take care of your daughter, including her feeding and sleeping habits. Breaking your daughter's night comfort nursing is a personal decision, but it's important to remember that it may take time and patience. Enjoy your night out with your husband!
