Tampons

I've seen ladies on here say we should pay for them but not have them taxed. I believe they should be free because no person with a uterus chooses to have a period and I personally think it's unfair to have to pay for tampons and or pads. 
So my question is, do you think they should be free? If not why and what's your reasons?
