Baby’s first birthday!

It’s hard to believe we’ve come this far. I was looking on Pinterest for first birthday ideas and it hit me, the first year is almost over already. Nobody prepares you for this. They say “just wait until he’s up every 2 hours” or “just wait until he’s teething” or even “just wait until he crawls”. Well Mama’s just wait, this goes by fast and you’re going to miss it! I miss those long nights when he wanted just to be near me. I miss the skin to naps. I miss the newborn smell. I love seeing my boy’s personality grow and he is so fun, but I MISS the first months. Putting his clothes away in a box was hard for me. Putting him in his “big baby” crib was even harder. I am thankful he is growing, happy, and healthy. But I wish time could slow down. I can’t believe almost a year has passed since I brought him home, no matter how hard postpartum was, nobody prepared me for how much I would miss it.
