Need advice with latching issues
My son is only a couple weeks old and I know he’s taking in enough milk, but getting him to stay patched is such an issue. The pediatrician said that he doesn’t have a tongue or lip tie.
He wheezes a lot when he eats and the doc said that could be because he’s still learning to breathe and eat and he does spit up a lot. Small amounts at a time though.
When he’s latched, he doesn’t open wide enough and he will get mad after it’s been in his mouth a while or pull too hard and let’s go and it’s such a struggle to get him to latch back because he’s swinging his arms so much.
Pediatricians said it could be the shape of my boob and suggested I try to pump and feed instead, but he’s only a few weeks okd! Is there anything else I can do or is pumping and bottle feeding my best option?
